  • Dishwashing liquid or other types of mild enzyme detergent
  • A cup of lukewarm water
  • Dry cloth
  • Soft bristle brush or sponge
  • Spray bottle

Follow the instructions below:

Prepare the cushion

Before you start, clean up the dust, dirt, and loose debris on your cushion. Check for the spills around and dab them with a dry cloth.

Wash the cushion cover

To wash your cushion cover, you can use your very own cleaning solution. The mixture is considered mild enough so it should be safe for most types of cushion covers.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Mix 1/4 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid with a cup of lukewarm water in a spray bottle.
  • Spray the cleaning solution into the stained areas of the cushion cover.
  • Work the cleaning solution into the stained areas with a soft bristle brush or sponge, keep in mind not to scrub the surface.
  • Blot the stains as much as you can and do not rub them since it will worsen the problems.

Rinse the residue

Rinse the residue of the cleaning mixture with a small amount of water and blot the moisture with a sponge or clean cloth. Leave the fabric to air dry completely before you sit back. You may need to repeat the steps if one round doesn’t really handle the problems.

Clean the cushion

  • Mix a gallon of water, a cup of bleach, and 1/4 cup of mild soap in a spray bottle.
