Vacuum the screen
The very first thing that you need to do is to vacuum the screen. You don’t have to remove it from the window frame.
Simply vacuum the screen with a brush attachment and make sure that you remove the loose dirt and dust completely, focus on the crevices of the screen where the dust is often stuck there. You can use this step to regularly clean the screen, at least, once a week.
In addition, you can also use the mixture of the equal part of water and white vinegar. Spray the screen with the cleaning mixture and wipe with a damp cloth. Leave the window open until the screen dries completely.
Remove clean the screen
To deep clean a window screen, you need to remove it from the window frame and bring it outside. You might need to label the screen if you have the ones in different sizes.
Hose down the screen
Use light pressure when you hose down the screen since high pressure may damage it. You need to ensure that the dirt and dust that are stuck in the screen are cleaned properly.
Wash the screen
Soak a soft bristle brush in the mixture of water and mild detergent then wash up your screen. Rinse the screen with clean water to remove the cleaning residue.
Alternatively, you can also use the mixture of one part water and one part vinegar to wash your screen.
Dry the screen

How often should you deep clean your window screen?
The frequency of deep-cleaning your screen depends on how dirty your screen can get over time. If you happen the leave around an area with high traffic, you may see that your screen can get dirty quickly. In autumn when the wind blows, you might also need to check how dirty your screen is.
